About the contest

In order to deepen the digital cooperation between China and ASEAN and other countries, accelerate the integration and innovation of AI and cultural tourism, promote the transformation and upgrading of the traditional cultural tourism industry empowered by artificial intelligence, attract and gather artificial intelligence technology, enterprises and talents, and help build a smart cultural tourism industry ecology with ASEAN and other countries, Beihai City focused on the AI competition in the vertical field of cultural tourism, rooted in the "China-ASEAN Cultural Tourism Digital Test Site" in Beihai, and held the "China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Cultural Tourism Innovation Application Competition" with the theme of "Wisdom Gathering Beihai and Sailing ASEAN to Build a New Highland for Cultural Tourism".

Track settings

Based on the three-dimensional framework of "technology-application-region", the competition sets up three characteristic tracks, covering the whole chain of AI cultural tourism innovation. Units and teams exploring innovative projects for the application of AI in the cultural tourism industry in the Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and ASEAN countries, including cultural tourism enterprises, AI technology R&D enterprises, independent application development teams, teachers and students from universities and research institutes.

  • Eligibility Criteria

    Cultural tourism enterprises, AI technology teams, and university faculty/students from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and ASEAN countries must:

    Form teams of ≥2 members

    Develop AI-powered innovations for cultural tourism

    Hold independent intellectual property rights without disputes

    (1) Corporate Group

    Registered non-individual-enterprise entities in China

    Physical business premises required

    Zero safety incidents or major violations (past 3 years)

    Project leader must:

    • Hold bachelor's degree or higher

    • Have relevant industry experience

    • Understand industry standards and international regulations

    (2) University Group

    Members must be:

    • Full-time/part-time students at accredited institutions, OR

    • Current faculty/researchers at universities or research institutes

    Minimum 2-member teams

    Capable of delivering functional products

    (3) ASEAN Group

    Legally registered entities in ASEAN member states with:

    • Valid business licenses

    • Physical operational premises
